    Seems like the obvious first question here for the group. I have hundreds of people that have expressed interest even over the past month as I have ramped up building the community. I don’ know how many will join our community, but I want to ask your thoughts about how to bring people to the point of membership. What will drive engagement? What did it for you? Content, connections, masterminds, coaching, other?

    Steve, I think the podcasts have been great. As I am listening, I get waves of motivation and I feel myself wanting to scratch that itch immediately. Unfortunately, I am usually listening in my car or mowing the lawn, and my motivation seems to be redirected when I sit down at my desk. I think the easier it is for potential members to make the connection immediately, the better. This is a great beginning, keep beating the drum!

    It seems like the podcast is the hook. We need to push that and drive everybody here for the accompanying resources?

      I think you are right Jay; so the podcast drives the website and then we have to make sure the website drives membership. Thanks.

    Three things come to mind: 1) I agree with Rob and Jay. The podcast is the hook (the anchor content) that will drive this community. (I ended up here because of our conversation.) 2) Fellow members can help by promoting, but having a simple, repeatable way to explain the benefits is key. There are times when I know the benefit of something but may not have the time/energy to put it into words. If you provide me that, I’ll repeat it happily, though. 3) In our podcast interview you said a phrase about small small businesses being critical to our communities. What you said spoke to your mission and jumped out at me. I think when small biz owners know how passionate you are about looking out for their best interests, and realize the resources, they’ll flock here.

      Lisa, this is gold. I’m so excited to have met you and be learning from you. I am so passionate about this but not good at knowing how to get that message out. Maybe I need to have tools to equip others to easily share? Videos, etc. I like the clear value-proposition; I think that really does need to be clarified as well.

Now
